Nature, culture and fashion at the belgian coast...
We start our day at the queen of the seaside resorts, Ostend. We saunter along the boulevard and admire the three-master sailing ship Mercator and at the Fisherman’s wharf you can enjoy the shrimps. As well here you find the studio of Ensor.
In the afternoon we will enjoy a fresh fish menu. You will experience why the fish market and the many fish restaurants are so famous far beyond the borders.
Fashion lovers will experience Knokke, where you will find many trendy fashion shops that offer exclusive brands. The most fashionable Flemish seaside resort means to see and to be seen.
In the residential villa quarter the many expensive houses form a contrast to the beautiful gardens. Several tennis courts and two 18-hole golf courts make ‘the Zoute’ complete.
You will be not surprised of finding here the biggest Venetian chandelier at the entrance of the casino of the beaumonde.
You can find here all the trendy boutiques, art galleries or making a stroll along the beach with a ice cone in your hands.
Finally we pass the picturesque Lissewege with the beautiful white facades that give its charm to this village. Here you will find the remainings of an abbey of the 13th century, the only existing Cistercian abbey of Europe. We enjoy a delicious pancake with a cup of coffee and a view of the classified village with its early gothic church.
You will have made undoubtly many pictures of those idyllic places.
