Strolling around in the world famous city of diamonds... After an introduction of our guide you will be surprised about the sights when we enter the city. First of all we will have a glimpse at the second biggest harbour of Europe, the third one in Europe but the most productive. The trendy bars along the river Scheldt will enchant you, the harbour facilities will impress you. (We will wake up with a hot cup of coffee with a view at the docks, while the big cruise liners arrive.) In the old city we take you along the old patrician houses to the biggest cathedral of Belgium, an example of 'Scheldt gothic'. Being spotted by the numerous Madonna sculptures that beautify the street scene, we admire the dazzling architecture by which the city is blessed with. We dive into the fashion hot spots of the Scheldt city, the fashion district with the trendy shops of amongst other the legendary “Six of Antwerp”. Before we continue our stroll in this bustling Burgundian city, we enjoy a typical Flemish meal in the neighbourhood of the market square. In the afternoon we visit a diamond workshop. 'Cut in Antwerp' is a perfect reflection of a diamond treatment and a finishing touch. We learn as well why. Finally you can enjoy the numerous pieces of art at the Rubens’house or shopping along the ‘Meir’. We take pictures and souvenirs, (the happy amongst us might take home a diamond), but especially many memories of the hometown of one of the most famous baroque painters.
